* MSA testing went very well last week. Thank you students and teachers for working so hard and thank you parents for all of your support.
* A special thanks goes to our PTA and Jubilee Food for providing snacks and water each morning of MSA testing.
* Congratulations to students, Taylor Merson, Patricia Boyd, Brie Trevorrow, LaBella Kreiner, Marlee Dinterman and Logan Barrick who have their art work on display for the Youth Art Month Show at the Delaplaine Center for the Arts in Frederick.
* Thurmont Middle School is counting on you!
Census forms will arrive in the mail at every household in the United States any day now. It is critical to school funding and decisions about where to build new schools that you participate by returning your form by Census Day, April 1st.
With only 10 questions, the census questionnaire only takes a few moments to complete. It asks a few simple questions of each person—name, relationship, gender, age and date of birth, race, and whether the respondent owns or rents his/her home.
All responses are strictly confidential. By law, the Census Bureau cannot share your personal responses with anyone—not even other government agencies.
Please do your part by filling out the form when it arrives and mailing it back. After April 1st, Census takers will go door to door to reach those who didn’t mail back the form.
For more information about the census, visit www.2010census.gov.
* The FCPS Special Education Citizens’ Advisory Committee (SECAC) will hold its next monthly meeting on March 29th in the Media Center at Brunswick High School from 6-8pm. The public is encouraged to attend. Public comment is welcome and the agenda will be posted on www.FCPS.org during the week prior to the meeting.
* Reminder – Schools will be open on March 31 and April 1 – these are snow make-up days.
